Gina Pagani’s art practice ranges from screen printing and painting to 3D sculpture. The relationship between traditional 2D grounds and the 3D is explored through the use of portraiture, facial features and isolated body parts, which create a unique sense of dimension. I am wanting to bring attention to the curiosity and idea of the corporeal along with these distorted and isolated body parts that reference body horror, as well as the overall physical awareness of being a human. I am also interested in the use of texture as a source of communication to give the viewer a tactile experience.
